December Sales and Use Tax

December sales tax was up 3%, correcting a negative November. Year-to-date, the city is $7 million below target for sales and use tax, prompting spending holdbacks and preparations for a challenging next fiscal year budget.

An additional $750,000 was allocated from Economic Development funds to close out small business assistance programs funded by ARPA, managed by The Alliance.
