Sales and use tax for January (first half of Christmas season) was up 6.9% year-over-year, and up 9.88% for the year. The city is up $691,000 for the month and $5.5 million for the year against budget projections.

The second round of grant applications will open early next week, with a deadline in late February. Priority will be given to Midwest City-based small businesses and non-profit organizations negatively affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
